Harvest update of South Central region for the first half of October 2020

Sugar production reached 2.61 million tons in the first half of October. This result is 36.5% higher than the volume reported over the same period last year. Since the beginning of the 2020/2021 harvest, accumulated sugar production reached 34.67 million tons, 45.92% above the quantity on the same date during the 2019/2020 cycle.

The volume of ethanol produced reached 2.06 billion liters in the first half of October, with 762.34 million liters of anhydrous ethanol and 1.3 billion liters of hydrous ethanol. The accumulated production of ethanol decreased by 7.49%, totalling 25.57 billion liters. Of the total fuel produced, 1.27 million liters of biofuel were produced from corn.
