Sugarcane harvest from the South Central region for the second half of October 2020

Harvest update for South Central region for the second half of October 2020

Sugar production reached 1.74 million tons in the second half of October. This result is 14.4% higher than the 1.52 million tons reported over the same period last year. Since the beginning of the 2020/2021 harvest up to November 1, accumulated sugar production reached 36.41 million tons. Over the same period of 2019/2020 cycle, the accumulated sugar production was 25.28 million tons.

The volume of ethanol produced reached 1.51 billion liters in the second half of October, with 637.51 million liters of anhydrous ethanol and 867.52 million liters of hydrous ethanol. The accumulated production of ethanol reached 27.09 billion liters, with 8.55 billion liters of anhydrous ethanol and 18.53 billion liters of hydrous ethanol. Of the total fuel produced, 126.31 million liters of biofuel were produced from corn.
