The U.S. sugar lobby continues to pursue a market isolation strategy, supported by a government-‐backed program of price support, trade quotas and market manipulation instead of learning to compete in this global marketplace. This protectionist policy has served the sugar lobby at the expense of American consumers who are paying more with every spoonful.
